Waiting on Wednesday July 10, 2013

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I am impatiently waiting to read …Drumroll please...

Book: Right of Way
Author: Lauren Barnholdt
Release Date: July 9, 2013 (yay!!)

Summary from goodreads:

Can a road trip repair a romance gone wrong? Find out in this standalone companion to Lauren Barnholdt’s Two-way Street.

Here are Peyton and Jace, meeting on vacation. Click! It’s awesome, it’s easy, it’s romantic. This is the real deal.

Unless it isn’t. Because when you’re in love, you don’t just stop calling one day. And you don’t keep secrets. Or lie. And when your life starts falling apart, you’re supposed to have the other person to lean on.

Here are Peyton and Jace again, broken up but thrown together on a road trip. One of them is lying about the destination. One of them is pretending not to be leaving something behind. And neither of them is prepared for what’s coming on the road ahead…

My thoughts:
I read Two Way Street a long time ago so I don’t really remember much about it, so good thing this is a standalone companion book. I just picked this book randomly, because I don’t have a book I’m waiting for other than the ones I’ve already posted in my previous WOWs. Fortunately, this book actually sounds good. I love the cover and I can only hope that it is full of drama!

***Hope you guys are having a great week, God bless. My grandmother just passed away this week and it would be great if you could pray for her and our family.

Feature & Follow Friday July 5, 2013

Alison Can Read Feature & Follow

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts,Parajunkee & Alison Can Read
What sets this Hop apart from others, is our Feature. Each week we will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas.
Question of the week: Today’s is the US’ Independence Day. Share your favorite book with a war in it, or an overthrow of the government.

Answer: I don't read a lot of books with war in it so my selection is very limited. But, if i had to choose one, I would pick, The Things They Carried by, Tim O'Brien. Perhaps even Gone with the Wind by, Margaret Mitchell. Oh I just can't pick! Anyways, I found both of those books in school when I had to read them for English class and have enjoyed them. The Things They Carried is set during the Vietnam War and Gone with the Wind is centered around the American Civil War. The two books are very different, but they both tell the tale of hardships and loss as well as a new found sense of hope. I wish I could go into more detail, but I don't remember all that much.

(this land was made for you and me)
***** Can't wait to see what everyone else has on their list. I may start reading more to expand my puny list of war books. A happy Independence Day to all those in the USA. Comments and follows are what I'm all about. ;]

This week's question submitted by Elizabeth.

Question: Do you like or dislike Rafflecopter and why?

Answer:
To be honest, I had no clue what Rafflecopter was. I had to look it up and I learned that it is used for giveaways. It looks like it could be a big help, but I have yet to use it. I'll wait to see what others post before using that site for future giveaways. :D

***This is just a little side rant that has nothing to do with this hop. I hope that everyone in the USA had a great independence day. The video above is the song, God Bless the USA by, Lee Greenwood.

Fire with Fire (2nd book in Burn for Burn series) by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian

Book: Fire with Fire ( Burn for Burn#2)

Author: Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian

Hard Cover, 518 pgs

Due date: Sept. 3, 2013

My Thoughts:
I am loving this series *insert excited-girly scream here*! The first book, Burn for Burn was a definite page turner. If you have no clue what I am talking about I've included a link to the first book above. This book is a contemporary novel centered around a group of three girls all wanting revenge. Now I'm not much of a mean girl, but this book lets me live out my crazy fantasies. Plus, it's just a fun and enjoyable read. What more could you want? XD

Question of the week: What is your preferred reading format? Hardcover,eBooks, paperback...etc?
Answer:  I prefer to read paperback books (sorry trees), because I like to hold paper and I enjoy being able to visibly see how much I've read. I also enjoy the smell of new books and the sound books make while they are being flipped, but that is a story for another day. I'm not a big fan of hardcover though, because I feel as though I can't open them all the way for fear that the spine will break. Ebooks are comfortable to hold for long periods of time and I like that people don't automatically know what you're reading (sometimes book covers are embarrassing!). I guess each one has its perks, but overall, paperback is the winner for me.

***that's all for now lady and gents. Can't wait to read your answers too, leave a link below in the comments. :]

Book Blogger Hop June 28

This week's question submitted by Aloi

Question: So would you read a book just because of the hype?

Answer: I have been known to follow the crowd every now and then. When the Water for Elephants movie came out, I made myself go read the book. I think it's fun to be able to connect with people through books. When I am reading I feel like I am in my own little world, so when I get to share that world with others its great. It's a good way to build relationships.

** Can't wait to read your answers. Please leave comments down under. :D
