13 Reason Why by Jay Asher * 5 out of 5 stars!*

Love Love Love Love this book! I thought it was a fantastic story that was very well written. At first I was hesitant to read this book because it was about suicide. Lets admit it, it's a scary topic and no one really wants to talk about it. But in 2007, suicide was the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S. with more then 30,000 deaths according to This book, "13 Reasons Why" by Jay Asher takes us into the world of Hannah Baker, where we are able to experience her thoughts and reasoning for killing herself. This book shows us that our actions, no matter how small, does effect others; for better or worse. I highly recommend everyone to read this book, I thought it was fantastic. The author, Jay Asher, makes me want to change the world. I really hope he writes more books in the future. :)

Here is the synopsis from Goodreads.

Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers thirteen cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker, his classmate and crush who committed suicide two weeks earlier.
On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out how he made the list.
Through Hannah and Clay's dual narratives, debut author Jay Asher weaves an intricate and heartrending story of confusion and desperation that will deeply affect teen readers.
