Waiting on Wednesday July 10, 2013

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I am impatiently waiting to read …Drumroll please...

Book: Right of Way
Author: Lauren Barnholdt
Release Date: July 9, 2013 (yay!!)

Summary from goodreads:

Can a road trip repair a romance gone wrong? Find out in this standalone companion to Lauren Barnholdt’s Two-way Street.

Here are Peyton and Jace, meeting on vacation. Click! It’s awesome, it’s easy, it’s romantic. This is the real deal.

Unless it isn’t. Because when you’re in love, you don’t just stop calling one day. And you don’t keep secrets. Or lie. And when your life starts falling apart, you’re supposed to have the other person to lean on.

Here are Peyton and Jace again, broken up but thrown together on a road trip. One of them is lying about the destination. One of them is pretending not to be leaving something behind. And neither of them is prepared for what’s coming on the road ahead…

My thoughts:
I read Two Way Street a long time ago so I don’t really remember much about it, so good thing this is a standalone companion book. I just picked this book randomly, because I don’t have a book I’m waiting for other than the ones I’ve already posted in my previous WOWs. Fortunately, this book actually sounds good. I love the cover and I can only hope that it is full of drama!

***Hope you guys are having a great week, God bless. My grandmother just passed away this week and it would be great if you could pray for her and our family.

I am impatiently waiting for the release of....Drumroll please...

Book: United We Spy (Gallagher Girls #6)
Author: Ally Cater
Description: Hardcover, 304 pages of sweet page flipping.
Expected Publication: September 17, 2013 (Yay this year!)

My thoughts:

I am over-the-moon excited for this book to come out! If you've been following this series since the beginning- like I have, then you would know that this series has been a LONG process in the making (7 years to be exact, but it seemed a lot longer). Anyways this is bittersweet, because this will be the final installment in the series... R.I.P. But, lets not think about that yet. *sob* On a brighter note, the cover is just PERFECT, this whole series is just perfectly crafted. They belong on the wall of great covers! I could just gaze at them all day. Plus, might I add clever titles.  I am so excited to see what is in store next for Cammie and her set of seriously-awesome spy friends. I hope you'll stay tuned for an update once this book comes out!

In case you have no clue what I've been rambling about, here is a synopsis from goodreads:

Cammie Morgan has lost her father and her memory, but in the heart-pounding conclusion to the best-selling Gallagher Girls series, she finds her greatest mission yet. Cammie and her friends finally know why the terrorist organization called the Circle of Cavan has been hunting her. Now the spy girls and Zach must track down the Circle’s elite members to stop them before they implement a master plan that will change Cammie—and her country—forever.

If you want to check out the other books in this series, I've decided to list them here (feel free to fix your eyes upon their splendor):

Book 1: I'd tell you I love you, but then I'd have to kill you.

*** Please follow if you like what you read, I'd love to follow you back. Can't wait to see what others are waiting for as well. Leave a comment with a link so that I can come visit. :]

Hi everyone, "Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I am waiting on a book by  the one and only, Ally Carter. It's the fifth installment of the Gallagher Girls series! Hooray. I am very excited for this book to come out.

Title: Out of Sight, Out of Time
Author: Ally Carter
Release Date: March 13, 2012
Synopsis from Goodreads.

The last thing Cammie Morgan remembers is leaving the Gallagher Academy to protect her friends and family from the Circle of Cavan--an ancient terrorist organization that has been hunting her for over a year. But when Cammie wakes up in an alpine convent and discovers months have passed, she must face the fact that her memory is now a black hole. The only traces left of Cammie’s summer vacation are the bruises on her body and the dirt under her nails, and all she wants is to go home.

Once she returns to school, however, Cammie realizes that even the Gallagher Academy now holds more questions than answers. Cammie, her friends, and mysterious spy-guy Zach must face their most difficult challenge yet as they travel to the other side of the world, hoping to piece together the clues that Cammie left behind. It’s a race against time. The Circle is hot on their trail and willing stop at nothing to prevent Cammie from remembering what she did last summer.

My thoughts:
I don't know if I can bear waiting for this book another 3 months! I find all of Ally Carter's titles very witty and fun. I find that they fit nicely with all the cute covers. What can I say, I'm a sucker for awesome covers.

Waiting on Wednesday

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by breaking the spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I am waiting on the second installment of Hex Hall, otherwise known as Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins. The book came out on Monday but  have to wait until the weekend to read it because I have no time right now. :( I really can't wait though. Hip Hip Hooray! :) I really enjoyed this first book and I've heard wonderful reviews for Demonglass so far.

So here is a synopsis for you guys:
Sophie Mercer thought she was a witch.

That was the whole reason she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (aka witches, shapeshifters, and fairies). But that was before she discovered the family secret, and that her hot crush, Archer Cross, is an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping Prodigium off the face of the earth.

Turns out, Sophie’s a demon, one of only two in the world—the other being her father. What’s worse, she has powers that threaten the lives of everyone she loves. Which is precisely why Sophie decides she must go to London for the Removal, a dangerous procedure that will destroy her powers.

But once Sophie arrives she makes a shocking discovery. Her new friends? They’re demons too. Meaning someone is raising them in secret with creepy plans to use their powers, and probably not for good. Meanwhile, The Eye is set on hunting Sophie down, and they’re using Archer to do it. But it’s not like she has feelings for him anymore. Does she?

Waiting on Wednesday #5?

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by breaking the spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I'm waiting on a book called, Psych Major Syndrome by  Alicia Thompson. This book is already out but I'm waiting until I finish some other books first before I read this one.
Here's the low down from Goodreads:

Using the skills you've learned so far in Introduction to Psychology, please write a brief self-assessment describing how things are going in your freshman year.Presenting Concerns:
The Patient, Leigh Nolan (that would be me), has just started her first year at Stiles College. She has decided to major in psychology (even though her parents would rather she study Tarot cards, not Rorschach blots).
Patient has always been very good at helping her friends with their problems, but when it comes to solving her own...not so much.
Patient has a tendency to overanalyze things, particularly when the opposite sex is involved. Like why doesn't Andrew, her boyfriend of over a year, ever invite her to spend the night? Or why can't she commit to taking the next step in their relationship? And why does his roommate Nathan dislike her so much? More importantly, why did Nathan have a starring role in a much-more-than-friendly dream?
Aggravating factors include hyper-competitive fellow psych majors, a professor who’s badly in need of her own psychoanalysis, and mentoring a middle-school-aged girl who thinks Patient is, in a word, naive.
Diagnosis:
Psych Major Syndrome

Waiting on Wednesday #4

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by breaking the spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I am waiting on an upcoming book called Ripple by Mandy Hubbard. This book is set to come out July 21, 2011. I'm really excited to read it and I'm really glad it's coming out in the summer!

Synopsis:
For two years, I have not killed.
But tonight, I stand in the shadows behind a tree, watching as a boy skips rocks on the lake.
He shouldn’t be here.
Lexi is cursed with a dark secret. The water calls to her, draws her in, forces her to sing her deadly song to unsuspecting victims. If she succumbs, she kills. If she doesn’t, the pain is unbearable. To keep herself and those she cares about safe, she shuts herself off, refusing to make friends or fall in love—again. Because the last time she fell in love with a boy, he ended up dead.
Then Lexi meets Cole. Against her better judgment, she finds herself opening up again, falling in love when she knows she shouldn’t. But when she’s offered the chance to finally live a normal life, she learns that the price she must pay to be free of her curse is giving him up.
In Ripple, Mandy Hubbard spins a sea-ravaged tale of melancholy beauty, and the choices one girl makes between land and waves, love and freedom, her future—and her heart.

Waiting on Wednesday #3

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by breaking the spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I am eagerly awaiting the release of an upcoming book called, Steel by Carrie Vaughn. This book is set to be released on March 15, 2011. (yay one month!!) :)

Here is the summary (which sounds super awesome):
It was a slender length of rusted steel, tapered to a point at one end and jagged at the other, as if it had broken. A thousand people would step over it and think it trash, but not her.
This was the tip of a rapier.
Sixteen-year-old Jill has fought in dozens of fencing tournaments, but she has never held a sharpened blade. When she finds a corroded sword piece on a Caribbean beach, she is instantly intrigued and pockets it as her own personal treasure.
The broken tip holds secrets, though, and it transports Jill through time to the deck of a pirate ship. Stranded in the past and surrounded by strangers, she is forced to sign on as crew. But a pirate’s life is bloody and brief, and as Jill learns about the dark magic that brought her there, she forms a desperate scheme to get home—one that risks everything in a duel to the death with a villainous pirate captain.
Time travel, swordplay, and romance combine in an original high-seas adventure from New York Times bestseller Carrie Vaughn.

Right now I am waiting on many books but this is probably the one I'm most excited about. The book is called Demon Kissed by H.M. Ward.

I am very excited about reading this book! It sounds really interesting and I have high hopes for it. Plus the cover looks cool don't you think? Also the author put out the first chapter of this book and it is very good so far. You can read it too when you click here. :)

Here is a little summary about the book from Goodreads:
DEMON KISSED is a young adult paranormal-romance novel, by American author H.M. Ward. It tells the story of Ivy Taylor, a seventeen year old girl, who is claimed by both the martyr marked (people chosen to protect humanity from evil), and the demon kissed (soulless servants of hell).

While learning to survive in this new reality, Ivy discovers that she is at the center of a prophecy that foretold of her unleashing unprecedented evil into the world. Ivy relies on her friends, and finds herself in a forbidden romance, while trying to save the world.

Alright that is it for today. Goodbye pals!
